A HUGE Imperial Stout that weighs in at an impressive 12% ABV! As if that’s not enough, we added pounds of coffee for a little extra kick.

Speedway Stout is a year round offering, and this specialty version was brewed with Vietnamese Coffee. Brewed might not do it justice — its strongly infused with exotic, bold coffee.
This stout packs more of a coffee punch than our morning cup of Joe. Either that, or we need a new coffee maker. How do they achieve this extreme level of java-ness?
AleSmith takes their typical batch of Speedway Stout, adding a special blend of Vietnamese coffees known as cà phê sữa đá. The end result is that deep roast.
The consistency of Speedway Stout with Vietnamese Coffee is a step lower than syrupy, but still nice and chewy for the style. And the flavor isn’t all coffee by the way…
It started with the aforementioned dark roast, then thick malt, followed by dark cacao. Positively delicious.
Adding to the experience, we were able to not only sample Speedway Stout with Vietnamese Coffee on tap, but on nitro and cask as well:
- Cask: served warmer, creamier consistency and more bold flavor.
- Nitro: Coffee flavor stuck more, fluffier head.
Regardless of how it was served, this was one amazing stout!
Final Score: 5/5
Speedway Stout might be the best stout on the market today. AleSmith took their top-notch stout, and improved upon it even more. If that’s even possible…
