I am going to call New Belgium Ranger India Pale Ale a weak IPA, and I mean that in more ways than one.
Ranger came across too feeble in the fundamental elements you look for in an India Pale Ale, and was fairly average overall.Read more
I have always felt Fat Tire was very overrated. Or at least consumed by trendy people who were told it was a great beer, when they should have been drinking a Coors Light instead.
It had been years since my last New Belgium Fat Tire, so I tried to be a little more open minded this time around.Read more
New Belgium Sunshine Wheat Beer was extremely thin bodied, almost like a Helles. I was expecting a bland beer for the shiny color, and lack of aroma, but I was pleasantly surprised. Fruit beer often leaves the beer drinker wanting more, or less fruit flavor in the brew. This was not the case with Samuel Adams Blueberry Hill Lager, which offered a more than adequate balance of fruit taste, and beer.Read more
What I don’t care for with some Belgian style ales, is they can be a little too heavy in the esthers.
Luckily Samuel Adams Belgian Session did not suffer from that effect, which I found to be its only redeeming quality.Read more
I liked Samuel Adams Little White Rye quite a bit at first, but less the more I drank it.
Orange peel, coriander, and sage are three herbs/spices used in the brewing process, and they definitely helped create an appealing spiced blend in the beer.Read more
